From the outside, Spirit of Little Things might look like just another slick distillery bar in Subiaco. Step inside though, and you’ll find something much more — a place where small-batch gin, native botanicals, WA produce, and genuine good times all come together under one very local roof.
It’s a distillery with a heart (and palate) planted firmly in the West.
Born from Mateship (and a Love of Damn Good Gin)
Like many great ideas, Spirit of Little Things started over a drink. Three mates — Tom Martin, Josh Krueger and Mick Seah — decided to bottle up their shared love of local flavour, good company, and standout spirits. It was humble beginnings back in 2018: small runs of gin that mostly kept their friends well-stocked. But the word spread (quickly), and by 2019 they were launching their core range across WA.

Fast-forward to today, and their Subiaco warehouse has become a thriving small-bar-meets-distillery where locals gather to sip, snack, and soak up that unmistakable Little Things energy. It’s part bar, part urban distillery, part neighbourhood hangout — with a copper still front and centre, local charcuterie on the tables, and a rotating cast of families, cyclists, and cocktail lovers rolling in.
The Spirit of WA, Distilled
What makes SoLT’s gin stand out? It’s not just the slick labels or the stories behind each drop. It’s the honest-to-goodness WA soul that runs through every bottle.
Their Australian Botanical Gin is a love letter to local landscapes — think zesty native lemon myrtle, spicy pepperberry and delicate florals, all perfectly balanced to sip neat, shake into a spritz, or pour generously with tonic. It recently picked up gold at the Perth Royal Distilled Spirits Awards (along with their Pinot Noir Gin), cementing its spot as one of the best in the west.

Then there’s the way they do things. Almost all their botanicals are sourced from local suppliers and Indigenous-owned businesses. Even the still is Australian-built. It’s all about keeping it close to home, championing the region, and crafting spirits that taste like where they come from.
More Than Just Great Gin — It’s a Whole Vibe
Sure, you can pop in for a killer G&T or a SoLT negroni, but this place is about more than drinks. It’s about connecting over shared plates, hanging with the crew, or picking up a new party trick at one of their gin or cocktail masterclasses.
Want to refine your palate and figure out exactly why you love that hit of lemon myrtle or native thyme? Their tasting sessions let you swirl, sniff and sip your way through the line-up, paired with local cheese and charcuterie. Prefer to get hands-on with a shaker? Try the cocktail masterclass and learn to craft signatures like the Kakadu Espresso Martini. Either way, you’ll leave with more than a buzz — you’ll have stories (and maybe a bottle) to take home.

Bringing the Party to Cabin Fever
Of course, these legends aren’t just about holding it down in Subi. This Cabin Fever, they’re packing up the bar and popping up at The Cabin on the Busselton Foreshore (18–20 July), pouring their award-winning gin and keeping the Cabin Fever crew fuelled for all the winter shenanigans.
And they’re not rocking up empty-handed — they’ve teamed up with fellow local favourites Vasse Felix and Juniper Estate to shake (and stir) a next-level cocktail list, crafted just for Cabin Fever. You’ll find a Rosé Limoncello Spritz (Vasse Felix Rosé x Little Things Limoncello), a Juniper Chardonnay Martini, and a moody New York Sour made with Juniper Tempranillo. Plus, the much-loved Little Things Espresso Martini will be pouring all weekend long.

So, whether you’re keen to meet them on their home turf in Subi, dive into a masterclass, or sip a one-off creation by the fire at Cabin Fever — you’re in for big flavour, plenty of laughs, and a taste of WA done right.
